Welcome to Al-Ándalus 2023

Drive into the heart of the Sahara Desert on a safari that takes in the historic souks and Kasbahs of Aït Benhaddou, Tourirt, and Amerhidil in Skoura. Ride camels over the windswept dunes of Erg Chebbi, sleep in authentic nomad tents, and drive over the dramatic and twisting Tizi n’ Tichka Pass across the High Atlas Mountains.

Day 1 & Day 2: Marrakech

On day 1 we will arrive at Marrakech and admire all the architectural richness of the Medina, upon visiting one of its many riads, small oriental palaces overlooking a beautiful patio.On day 2 we will enjoy Marrakech with a city tour and prepare for the adventure to come in the next days: New Year's Eve in the Sahara Desert.

Day 3: High Atlas

We will depart from Marrakech and drive through the High Atlas Mountains, via the twisting Tizin’ Tichka mountain pass to Ouarzazate.In this way we will visit the exotic Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, continuing to Ouarzazate center. We will enjoy lunch nearby the Kasbah of Tourirt, former residence of the Glaoui Dynasty.Then, we will head to Rose Valley and the Kasbah of Amerhidil in Skoura, situated by the Amerhidil River and one of the largest in Morocco. We will overnight in the Dades Valley, where the "International Night" will be held.

Day 4: Discovering The Sahara Desert

After breakfast, we will depart from the Dadès Gorges and stop in a spot to enjoy the spectacular scenery while sipping on mint tea, also known as “Berber Whiskey”.We will continue to Tinghir via Boulman Dadès, and see beautiful palm trees and lush landscapes, moving then onto the Todgha Gorges.Then, we will drive to Merzouga, enjoying lunch on our way to the desert. There, we will trek by camel across the wind-blown Erg Chebbi dunes for the sunset, the classic Sahara Desert of all the picture books.

Day 5: Enjoying the Desert

We will wake up to spectacular desert sunrise and tasty breakfast, where Bivouac trekkers will show us around.Then, we will continue to the small town of Rissani, where we will visit the Ksours and Kasbahs of Tafilalt, stopping at the Tafilalt Palm Grove, and visiting the Zaouia of Moulay Ali Sherif (mausoleum of the Alaouidynasty’s founder).In the evening we will drive to Ouarzazate via Alnfe, Tazarine, Drâa Valley, and Agdz, overnighting nearby the Kasbah Des Caids, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional dinner while listening to local music.

Day 6: Moroccan culture & Traditions

Our host will provide us with a cultural tour during the morning, by showing the former life of Moroccans before 200 years and their style of life like cooking, working, and the art of building.Afterward, we will do a tour of the Atlas Studios, the largest movie studio in Africa. We will continue our return journey to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka, passing over the High Atlas Mountains, and stopping on the way for lunch.We will finish the day in Marrakech, enjoying the last night of the event and preparing ourselves for an unforgettable and unique Post-Event.

Day 7 & Day 8:
Al-Ándalus experience (Post-Event)

For those who will stay for the Post-Event, we will teleport you back to the origins of Al-Ándalus, living, feeling, and enjoying an unforgettable experience.This will be unique. This will be Al-Ándalus.
